What’s happening on the internet this year in terms of marketing conferences? A lot of.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the world has yet to open up and begin with gatherings for business conferences. However, this does not prevent companies from bringing marketers and those responsible for creating digital customer experiences together under one roof for virtual events.
In 2020, the hub for big events switched to digital, and 2021 will develop in a similar manner. February is a particularly hot month for marketing conferences. So be vigilant this month. Here are some virtual marketing conferences to watch out for in 2021.
The Demand Gen Report provides this virtual event for B2B marketers inspired to improve demand generation, digital strategy, account-based marketing, channel marketing and sales engagement.
Conference officials say marketers across multiple industries can leverage the latest B2B marketing strategies.
E-commerce and “omnichannel innovators” can participate in this virtual summit and exhibit this month as stated on the conference website. This conference has been going on for 20 years, mostly in person in the West, but now on a virtual level. It is tailored for retail and customer acquisition and retention strategies, and offers solid digital shopping experiences.

Search Engine Land and Marketing Land are planning several virtual events on search engine marketing starting this month. Conference officials said they would focus on SEO, PPC / SEM, analytics, content marketing, conversion rate marketing, technical SEO, and marketing technology.
The Digital Summit plans a series of virtual events mixed in with some personal and hybrid settings. The digital marketing conferences specialize in marketing, social media, email marketing, analytics, creative, website strategy and other topics.
In the “Hey, look at us” category, Simpler Media Group, the company that publishes this website, CMSWire, is hosting their DX Summit 2021. We’re pretty proud of what is now our seventh year of the DX Summit is produced. We started in Chicago in 2015 and thereafter hosted the annual customer experience and marketing professional conference in the Windy City every year through 2019.
Last year was of course our first virtual show and we are planning four digital events starting on February 25th and continuing on May 27th, July 29th and October 28th. The four most important things about digital CX this year will be how digital CX professionals can design, create, orchestrate and optimize digital customer experiences.
MarTech has been strong since 2014. Scott Brinker’s conference on marketing technology platforms and martech strategies traditionally takes place twice a year: in one place on the west coast and in one place on the east coast, the hometown of Brinker in Boston. Brinker is the creator of the Martech Supergraphic.
The virtual show starts next month and lasts for two days. The topics will focus on changes in customer behavior, rapidly evolving consumer demand and the implementation of marketing technologies.
The digital experience software provider will hold its annual summit for marketers in April. Adobe’s in-person event, last held in late winter 2019, drew more than 20,000 attendees to learn about Adobe software and get inspiration for marketing strategies.
Adobe plans to focus on the Adobe Experience Platform, analytics, B2B marketing, campaign management, collaborative work management (presumably highlighting the workfront acquisition), digital commerce and personalization, among other things.
Research firm Forrester is running a series of virtual customer experience conferences per global region, starting with the APAC release May 11-12. It drives a theme of “connected experience” and orchestrates a solid customer journey that is augmented by data and analysis. Forrester will join CX North America June 7th through June 9th, and then join CX EMEA from September 30th through October 30th. 1.
Gartner will host its annual strategy show for CMOs and other marketing directors and executives in the heart of summer. Gartner plans to focus on helping marketing executives operate on tight budgets, focus on a digital first strategy, and examine the role of a brand in an era of changing society.
Another vendor conference that feels less like a vendor conference. Of course, HubSpot advertises the product. But the show has drawn thousands of viewers to Boston over the years to develop inbound marketing strategies that the Cambridge, Massachusetts-based company pioneered.
HubSpot hasn’t published many details about the 2021 virtual show on its website – we don’t fault them. It’s still eight months – but you can expect a mix of HubSpot product innovations as well as marketing and content strategies.
