Based in Birmingham Michael panic Hypepotamus said that for most of his career he had been at the intersection of marketing and web development. But his passion was helping small businesses. “I believe in small businesses as a whole. I’m a small business product, ”he said.
“The problem is, even in tier 2 cities like Birmingham, everyone is battling overpaid marketing. There are only so many billboards in the world. And on the internet everyone is fighting for the same paid ads. So many times have I seen small to medium-sized companies competing for keywords that are completely dominated by large companies. ”
These small businesses are struggling to catch on and turn to marketing agencies for help. However, these agencies compete to buy the same advertising space.
Additionally, in 2021, Apple announced significant changes to privacy that will affect pay-per-click advertising and digital marketing in general.
Panic believes the answer to this problem is organic marketing.
Together with Kevin Brown, he co-founded Bordo to help small businesses get better tools to grow organic social media marketing.
The platform helps users set and forget them by scheduling posts on social media platforms, collaborating with team members, and integrating Canva and Unsplash for content creation.
According to Panik, Bordo differs from other planning tools in that it focuses on the “non-power user”, which means that the platform is structured in a simpler and more intuitive manner. The platform ensures that posts are actually created on platforms and can provide instant feedback if an integration or post fails.
Bordo has been booted so far. The platform is now free to use, and Panik states that there is potential to make money later on with the upper-level features and integrations they planned.
In 2021, the team plans to take on the initial funding and add additional integrations and an improved content creation process.
