My first insider meeting since COVID caused us to close the office in March 2019 was with the Mad Mango team; Aaron Uscilla and Robert DeFeo. It was great fun talking to these two young entrepreneurs, their energy, passion and desire to grow were very inspiring. We talked about how the two of them started their business, from a small kayak business to Mad Mango Marketing. They thought Mad Mango was a great name for the company and a little bit about why they chose that name.
The team focuses on many local businesses, many trade service companies like HVAC, plumbers, electricians, and companies that rely on Google My Business. Local reviews are important and so on. They stated that many of these smaller commercial enterprise businesses are unwilling to solicit reviews from customers. Hence, they need to find clever ways to encourage them to ask customers for reviews.
Backlinks are important for local SEO, but especially for getting links from local businesses. They gave a number of tips on working with vocational schools, contacting organizations and much more. These business owners also often have websites but they are very out of date or do not know how to update them or access the server. They also go to great lengths to get them to create content through video content because they simply don’t have the time to write content. But what you can do is record them, they love to show you how to fix things, and you can transcribe these videos and post both of them.
