With business customers mostly online over the past year, B2B marketers reported additional investments in digital channels for new customer acquisition and retention, including search, viewing and email. When attracting new customers, the most popular investment increases were search and targeted viewing, while email was the most popular growth channel for customer loyalty. B2B marketers’ investment in digital media delivers value:
- 36% of B2B marketers had a higher average order value since January 2020
- 44% of B2B marketers have seen a higher volume of activity since January 2020
Half of B2B marketers believe their marketing spend will return to normal in 2021, while half believe that equilibrium will be restored in 2022. The new normal will require more digital sophistication than ever and will never look exactly like 2019. According to a study by McKinsey, more than three-quarters of business buyers and sellers prefer digital self-service and remote engagement over personal activity . This means B2B marketers need to continue their digital optimization and growth. Every B2B company will experience economic growth in different ways.
