Publicis purchase Octopus Group to enhance B2B capabilities

Publicis Groupe has taken over B2B marketing agency Octopus Group for an undisclosed fee and has joined the UK branch of the advertising giant to improve its B2B offering.

Publicis intends to leverage Octopus’ strategic, creative, technological and commercial experience in the B2B space to respond to the market transformation brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic – a shift where the lines between B2B and B2C are looking for Businesses blur to protect revenue.

“We have been looking for the right B2B partner for some time to improve our skills in this area,” said Annette King, CEO of Publicis Groupe UK. “Octopus has a proven record of solving customer challenges in a way that changes categories. Joining Publicis Groupe UK as part of our Power of One model is a great opportunity for clients and agencies to grow. “

Octopus was founded in 2001 and will be represented by Publicis alongside Saatchi & Saatchi, Leo Burnett and Digitas. It currently works with clients such as Siemens, Adobe, Logitech, Smartsheet and ACI Worldwide.

“Important B2B industries are being transformed and disrupted by technology at warp speed. This is an exciting time for B2B brands and their marketing teams. They rely on agency partners to combine deep commercial insights and creativity to drive performance, ”said Jon Lonsdale, CEO of Octopus Group. “We look forward to being part of a network that understands the importance of creativity in the B2B space and enables us to offer our customers even better access to expertise and scalability, to build brands and to increase sales internationally.”
